I realized a few hours into this thing that it was starting to look kinda Na’vi-ish. So here’s a half-finished headshot of an androgynous Avatar-sheep-person.

I was really debating with myself whether or not to post this, because it’s so incredibly different and weird for me. But I kinda like it.

So. This is what comes from being forced to create when going through a bad cold and a marathon of Courage the Cowardly Dog. Sorry if I blinded you/gave you nightmares.

So I made a new self portrait, and it’s so much better than the first. It’s mixed media (traditional and digital painting), though the preliminary pastel drawing had some funky experimental color to it which I decided to omit. Drawn with both a mirror and photo reference.

Finished still life. I tried something new and did a mixed media painting, using acrylics, pastels, and digital painting. Surprisingly, I think using traditional and digital fairly equally made me feel like I could be more loose in technique. So this was a really good exercise.

Lineart work in progress. Pretty much just some basic nature-y elf-ified prettyness that I’ve had stuck in my head since re-reading the Inheritance Cycle. I’m almost finished with the last book, and Paolini has yet to disappoint.

Also, they’re not shown here, but deer feet are terribly hard to draw convincingly.

I like green. :P This took about 5 hours, I think.

This image is the product of shameless cliche and filter abuse. I’ve been messing around with Photoshop CS5. I didn’t like the program before (the interface is kind of ugly), but I love the new brush capabilities. So I spent a good hour or so playing with the cute little brush angle display.
